Participated in the Harvard International Review and was selected as a finalist for a bronze medal prize. Submitted an article regarding China's frequent breach of intellectual property rights and how it deters further development as a first world nation.

ASHG DNA Day Essay
Participated in the ASHG Annual DNA Day contest and was awarded 250$ for the writing. Wrote about the uniqueness of human genome with examples such as HAR1 gene, SRGAP2C gene, ARHGAP11b gene, and the non-coding regions of the human genome.

Ayn Rands Essay Writing Contest
Participated in the Ayn Rand Essay Writing contest and was nominated top 140 of the submissions. Wrote about the topic of the pursuit of knowledge, especially in the face of societal oppression, after reading the novel Anthem.

Genius Olympiad Creative Writing
Selected as one of the GENIUS Olympiad creative writing short story section finalist. Wrote a dystopian style short story regarding air pollution in modern society.

American Studies Finals Essay
For the final essay in American Studies: US history, I wrote a 10-page analysis about the influence and repercussions of anti-communist hysteria in the McCarthy Era on the American film industry.

American Literature Literary Style Analysis
For American Literature class, wrote an essay comparing the literary styles of Zora Neale Hurston and Langston Hughes. The essay cites their representative writing such as How It Feels to Be Colored Me, Sweat, Silhouette, Mulatto, and The Negro Speaks of Rivers.

The Journal of Charles Remond Douglass
A fictional, creative writing piece that was done as part of the American studies: US history class. The writing takes the form of a journal written by Charles Remind Douglass, the second son of Frederick Douglass, exploring the emancipation proclamation to the end of the reconstruction era.
